CASE STUDY HOUSE

A case study on the Turbulence house by Stephen Holl

Mission

Steven Holl's Turbulence house is a digitally prefabricated home in a windy desert area.

the absent space in the middle of the form provides turbulent winds to cool the interiors. The south facade has very small windows to minimize direct heat load.

The house was designed to have the effect of an iceberg where only the tip of a very large form breaks the surface and the rest sits underneath the surface.

Diagraming

Making diagrams to understand the many aspects of this building creates new ideas for future projects.
